Jerold
Goldstein has been collaborating with William Squier since the two
of them met at Ithaca College. Their musicals have been performed
in Manhattan at the Sanford Meisner Theatre (BABALU), the Nat Horne
Theatre (MY OLDEST FRIEND) and MUSIC IS MY FIST -- their send up
of the Rat Pack -- was featured twice at Steve McGraw’s. Regional
presentations include The Theatre Barn (BABALU), the Hunterton Hills
Playhouse (SUNNYSIDE UP!) and SENTIMENTAL JOURNEY, a revue performed
at venues in Connecticut. Their holiday musical THE
THREE SCROOGES has played Curtain Call, Inc. (twice!), the Ingersoll
Theatre in Des Moines, IA, the New England Actor’s Theatre
(New Haven, CT). And their newest musical, ROUTE 66 (music: Fred
Stark), has been performed in concert at Connecticut’s Curtain
Call Theater, the Stamford Center for the Arts, the inaugural Kansas
City Crossroads Festival of New Musicals. and in a full production
at the University of Maine.
Jerold composed incidental music for the Off-Broadway
production of the play ME AND JEZEBEL at the Actor’s Playhouse,
BOYWONDER at The Depot Theatre (NYS) and the Contemporary Arts Theatre
(DC) and the ballet score MELODIES IN THE KEY OF DANCE for Circle
Dance in Ithaca, NY. Individual songs that he has composed
include ‘Garland of Hope,’ featured in the Broadway
Cares / Equity Fights Aids Easter Bonnet Competition, and ‘Where’s
the Party Tonight?’ (Lyrics: W. Squier) the theme song for
the ABC-TV late night pilot, WHERE’S THE PARTY?
As an actor, Jerold has appeared on Broadway in
HOW TO SUCCEED IN BUSINESS WITHOUT REALLY TRYING, with Matthew Broderick,
Sarah Jessica Parker and John Stamos, and in the musical AIN'T BROADWAY
GRAND. He was featured in the national tour A FUNNY THING HAPPENED
ON THE WAY TO THE FORUM starring Rip Taylor (standing by for Mr.
Taylor) and co-starred with Dick Van Patten in SCANDALS at Theatre
Virginia. Jerold played Chico Marx in both ANIMAL CRACKERS at Arena
Stage, Washington) and THE COCOANUTS at the Actors Theatre of Louisville,
won Philadelphia's Barrymore Award for his performance in GUN METAL
BLUES at the Wilma Theatre, was in the Kennedy Center's long-running
production of SHEAR MADNESS and toured Europe as Bert Barry in 42ND
STREET. On television he has been featured on NBC’s LAW AND
ORDER and CBS’ HACK. |
